The addiction ends

I was kinda like this minus the being guild officer part...scary in hindsight! It's an addiction like anything else. Especially the part about a sense of accomplishment etc etc rings true. A good read.

I have to admit, addiction to an online video game sounds part ridiculous, part scary. So if all of this was going on during the last year of your degree, how did that actually go in the end?

This was going on during the last two years of my course actually and first it lead to failing 4/5 modules in that year but i got my act together during the following summer and passed my resits. Then i was able to control the bad habit better and got a 67 on my dissertation and passed my third year and came out with a 2.2 Honours luckily. Can't say i had much of a social life though, mostly it was wow and reading. It's the social aspect of the game that sucks you in, otherwise you get bored after a while just like any other game.
